Nevada competes at Joplin swim meet

JOPLIN -- The Nevada High School girls swim team competed at Joplin on Tuesday night. Also competing were Carthage and Lamar.

In the 200 medley relay, Nevada's team of Hunter Richmond, Tayrin Schmitt, Grace Reichard, and Emma Denman finished second with a time of 2:19.

In the 200 free, Schmitt was second overall (2:32, Elizabeth Prewitt was fifth (2:55), Abbie Landoll was seventh (2:58) and Lize Smith finished 12th.

Denman took fourth in the 50 free (31.59), while Rees Noble was seventh (36.27), and Tori Chrisenberry was ninth (38.28).

In the 100 fly, Richmond took third (1:24).

Noble finished seventh in the 100 free (1:23) and Chrisenberry was 11th (1:29).

Reichard took second in the 400 free (4:45), while Prewitt was third and Smith was ninth.

In the 200 relay, the team of Richmond, Schmitt, Denman and Reichard took second with a time of 2:04. Joplin's team finished in 2:01.

Nevada's Reichard won the 100 backstroke, finishing in 1:14. Richmond was fifth (1:28).

In the 100 breast, Schmitt took second (1:28), Denman was sixth (1:41) and Landoll was ninth (1:42).
