Dwain Allen Belcher
Dwain Allen Belcher, 61, Nevada, died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, at Nevada Regional Medical Center in Nevada. He was born July 8, 1950, in Nevada, to Ralph Edmund Belcher and Frances Louise Yurk Belcher.
Dwain was raised in Nevada and graduated from high school in Fort Scott, Kan., in 1969. He served in the United States Army from 1970 to 1972 as a communications specialist during the Vietnam Conflict. He became disabled during his time in the service. Prior to his military service he worked as a cook at the White Grill in Fort Scott, Kan. Dwain was a member of the American Legion in Nevada.
Survivors include one son, Shawn Belcher and his wife, Kelly, Nevada; two granddaughters, Ami Belcher and Kendra Belcher, both of Nevada; his mother, Louise Belcher, Nevada; two brothers, Dwight Belcher and his wife, Christie, Fort Scott, Kan., and Steve Belcher, also of Fort Scott, Kan.; one sister, Debbie Belcher, Fort Scott, Kan.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Belcher.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 15, at National Cemetery in Fort Scott, Kan., with the Rev. Terry Mosher officiating.
