CCPA Youth Showcase begins tonight

The Community Council on the Performing Arts will present the 2012 Youth Showcase this week at the Fox Playhouse, 110 S. Main St., Nevada. Performances will be at 7 tonight, Friday and Saturday, with a 2 p.m. matinee Sunday. Admission is $6.

Allison Fast, who is co-ordinating the event, said Wednesday that she has enough acts to present four 90-minute programs with a wide variety of talent.

Among the scheduled acts are The Nevada High School Jazz Band which will open on Thursday and Friday, the P30:1 praise band from the First Baptist Church, Nevada Tigerettes dance team, Kelly Clow on the piano, magician DJ Garrison, Mattie Richardson playing the fiddle, Paige Burris with a clarinet solo and Braden Bickel dribbling a basketball to music.
