Sheldon begins district baseball tourney today

LIBERAL -- The Sheldon High School baseball team will take on Rich Hill today at 4 p.m. in a semifinal contest of the Class 1, District 7 Tournament at Liberal.

The other semifinal features Liberal vs. Drexel at 6 p.m.

Today's winners advance to the title game, which will be played on Monday, May 14 at 4 p.m.

Rich Hill defeated Northeast Vernon County 6-0 in a first round contest on Wednesday. Liberal beat Hume 16-0 and Drexel shut out Bronaugh 11-0 in the other first round games.

Sheldon earned a first round bye as the district's number-one seed.
