Council to consider architect's agreement

The Nevada City Council will be considering an agreement with Williams, Spurgeon, Kuhl & Freshnock Architects Inc., North Kansas City, for the programming phase of the public safety facilities design, during tonight's council meeting, at 7, in Council Chambers, inside the Public Safety Building at Ash and Austin. The work for this phase of the project will include a needs assessment, site analysis and a project schedule.

The council also will consider a request for a solicitor's license for the American Cancer Society for the intersection of Osage and Austin for May 25-26.

Other items on the council's agenda include the first reading of a special ordinance with Crockett Construction, Lamar, to repair a sewer line under the intersection of Adams and Douglas streets that was damaged during the installation of a telephone line; the second reading a a special ordinance approving a lease-purchase agreement with Great Southern Bank for a John Deere Mini-excavator and a special ordinance approving an agreement with American Fidelity Assurance Company to manage the city's flexible spending account.

The council also plans to hold a discussion on the city's tourism fund and to issue mayoral proclamations for American Legion Poppy Days, Police Week and EMS Week.
