Volleyball camp, coed tourney to be held in June

Nevada High School volleyball coach Ashley Thoreson is hosting the Second Annual Youth Girls Volleyball Camp on June 27-28.

The camp for girls going into fourth, fifth and sixth grades will be held from 10 a.m. to noon.

A camp for seventh and eighth graders will be held from 1-3:30 p.m. The cost is $25 per athlete and a T-shirt is included.

The camp will be held at the middle school due to construction in the high school gym.

The camp is run by Thoreson, JV Coach Megan Fisher, and freshman coach Ranea Schulze. Members of the high school team will also help out at the camp.

Adult coed tourney

The volleyball program will also be hosting a coed volleyball tournament for adults on June 30.

The cost is $120 per team.

There will be two divisions (power and recreation) and the tourney will be held at the middle school.

Thoreson said all of the fund-raising from the tourney will be used to help send the high school varsity team to a team camp.
