NEVADA--There's no better way to put it -- the Windsor Titans were simply no match for the Nevada Red Sox on Tuesday night.

The AAA Red Sox were dominant in all facets of the game in a 13-1 run-rule victory over the Titans in the American Legion season-opener at Nevada's Champion Diamonds Sports Complex.
In game two, Nevada completed the sweep with an 11-0 win in five innings.
In the season-opener, the Red Sox slapped out 12 hits, while the Titans had just two. Nevada committed just one error in the field, while the Titans had seven in four innings. Nevada also got a strong pitching performance from Cole Sanderson, while the Titans had to use three pitchers in four innings. All of those factors combined for a lopsided win for the hosts in a contest that ended after the top of the fifth.
The Red Sox broke through against Titans starter Ben Scotten in the second inning, scoring seven runs on six hits and three errors. And they did it all with two outs. After the first two batters of the inning were retired, a Windsor error kept the inning going.
And the Red Sox took advantage in a big way. Alex Payne hit an RBI double, scoring Grant Davis to start the scoring. Bradey Denney reached on an infield single, and then Lane Ketterman walked.
Payne scored on an error and then Joe Lean hit an RBI single for a 3-0 lead. Caleb Kauffman walked and then Trevor Norbury lined a two-run single up the middle for a five-run lead. The Red Sox weren't done. Sanderson drove in another run with a single and then Austin O'Neal added an RBI single of his own, making it 7-0. Windsor finally got out of the inning by forcing Davis to ground out.
After Sanderson, a right-hander, sent down the Titans in order, the Red Sox were back at it right away.
Payne singled, Denney sacrificed and then Ketterman cracked an RBI double to the wall in left for an 8-0 lead. Next, Lean reached on an error and then another error allowed a run to score, making it 9-0.
After a pitching change, Norbury walked. Sanderson then helped his own cause with a two-run single to center, giving the Red Sox a comfortable 11-0 cushion.
After a fielder's choice, Davis drove in another run with a single to right. The Titans then got out of the inning.
Nevada tacked on another run in the bottom of the fourth. Easton Mitchell drew a walk and later scored on a Windsor error for a 13-0 lead.
Windsor scored its only run of the game in the fifth against relief pitcher Colton Selvy. With one out, Selvy walked two. Nevada got a fielder's choice, but then a run scored when Red Sox catcher Norbury tried to pick off a runner and the ball ended up in right field.
But Selvy then retired the side and the game ended early due to the 10 after 5 run-rule.
Sanderson earned the win on the hill, allowing just two hits in four innings. He struck out seven Titans. A Liberal product, Selvy struck out two in one inning of work.
Sanderson also drove in three runs on two singles. A Rich Hill product, Norbury also drove in two runs. Payne, Lean, O'Neal and Davis all had one RBI apiece.
