Jessie Irene Luther

Jessie Irene Luther, 89, Richards, Mo., passed away on her birthday, July 11, 2012, at her home in Richards, Mo. She was born July 11, 1923, in St. Louis, Mo., to Jesse DeTienne and Irene Parsley DeTienne. She married Wesley Raymond Luther on Aug. 2, 1941, in Rich Hill, Mo., and he preceded her in death on Jan. 6, 1976.

Jessie and her husband came to Horton in 1943. She was a homemaker and helped take care of cattle on the family farm for many years.

Survivors include one daughter, Dora McKinley, of the home; one son, Wesley Raymond Luther, Warrensburg, Mo.; three grandchildren, Wendy Morton, Joplin, Mo., Lisa Sumner, Rich Hill, Mo., and Steve "Tex" McKinley, of the home; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Joy DeTienne; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Raymona Irene Kenney; one sister, Jean Trusty; and one brother, Vernie DeTienne.

A private committal will be held in Balltown Cemetery, Horton, Mo.
