'Parking Lot Party' slated at Java Den on Sept. 19

Rock 'n' roll musicians will play and an independent movie will be shown during a "Big Agenda Fall-Tacular Welcome Back, Cottey, Parking Lot Party" from 5 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, at Take a Break Java Den at 1503 W. Austin Blvd., Nevada
Nevada musician and event promoter "Dangerous Doug" Harper said performers will include the Sick of the Day Band, Shane Moses, Pawns and Parables, Rod Dillon, Scott Theis, Kinley Morrow, Dan Divine, Indian Bobby Bitner and Matthew Harper.
Harper said the film "Jandek on Corwood," a documentary about a reclusive Houston folk-blues musician, will be shown.
The event is also being sponsored by the Vernon County Arts Council Art Walk, the Rock Station, Del-Way Drive In and Missouri Eagle Beverage Co., distributors of Monster Energy.
General admission tickets are on sale for $3 at the Java Den at (417) 667-2056. VIP admission is $5 for guaranteed on-site parking and a special VIP event, said Harper, who also will perform.
