Chester Lee Bruce Jr.
Chester Lee Bruce Jr., 66, Walker, Mo., passed away on Wednesday, Sept.19, 2012, at his home in Walker, following a lengthy illness. He was born Aug. 23, 1946, in Milo, Mo., to Chester Lee Bruce Sr. and Nola Maxine Johnston Bruce. He married Patricia Ball on Sept. 3, 1964, in Nevada, and she survives of the home.
Chester was raised in the Walker area and graduated from Walker High school in 1964. He worked in the Nevada R-5 School Systems for more than 20 years as a school bus driver and in the bus barn. Chester did custom farm work for many years and enjoyed farming, raising cattle, and woodworking.
Survivors include his wife, Pat, of the home; one son, Chester Lee Bruce III and his wife, Brenda, Nevada; grandchildren, Masen Bruce and Kevin Wilbur, Clay Bruce, and Karli Bruce; his mother, Nola Bruce, Walker; three brothers, Roy Bruce, Springfield, Mike Bruce, Walker, and Rex Bruce, Walker; two sisters, Debbie Blankenship, Nevada, and Mary Kinney, Walker; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and one sister, Shirley Moore.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Sept. 21, at Newton Burial Park, Nevada. Friends may call now and until 10 a.m., Friday at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
The family will receive friends at their home from 4-7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 21.
