Kathleen Kaye Wilson
Kathleen (Kaye) Wilson, of Nevada, Mo., died Sept. 12, 2012, in her home surrounded by her family. Kaye was 73 years old at the time of her passing.
Kaye was born Oct. 14, 1938, in Port Huron, Mich. She was the fifth child of Floyd Duncan and Lavina Ferguson Duncan. Kaye was united in marriage to Roger DuJardin Sr. in 1954. During this time, Kaye was blessed with four children -- Roger Jr., Allisa, William and Polly.
In 1973, Kaye moved to El Dorado Springs, Mo., where she met William (Bill) Russell Wilson Jr., and his two children, Debbie and William. On June 8, 1974, Kaye was baptized into the Seventh-Day Adventist Church and united in marriage to Bill. To this marriage, four more children were born -- Michelle, John, Chris and James.
In the early 1980s, Kaye and her family began doing forestry work, which allowed them to travel throughout most of the United States. In 1988, they settled in Shirley, Maine, where they lived until 1991. In July 1991, Kaye and her family relocated to Nevada, where she lived happily until she passed away.
Kaye enjoyed cleaning and organization. She worked for Nevada Regional Medical Center as a housekeeper and in later years at the YMCA. Kaye loved flowers and gardening. She also loved to read. Kaye enjoyed long car rides with her family, with no particular destination in mind. She often spoke fondly of her travels, the sights they saw and all the fun they had as a family. Her love for her family was only second to her love for Christ. Kaye regularly spoke to her children of a vision where they were all together in Heaven with the Lord. This was her most cherished hope. She regularly attended the Nevada Seventh-Day Adventist Church on Saturday mornings and Wednesday night prayer meetings. Her love for the Lord was shown by the way she lived her life and her love and kindness for others.
Kathleen is survived by her spouse, William Wilson, of the home; her children, Roger DuJardin, William DuJardin, Polly DuJardin Dockery, Michelle Wilson McIntire, John Wilson, Chris Wilson, James Wilson, Debbie Wilson Aubert, and Bill Wilson; 19 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Allisa DuJardin Silvers; and one grandson, Joseph VanRaden.
She will be greatly missed and forever honored.
Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 22, at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Nevada with Elder Larry Cansler officiating.
