Middle School volleyball competes in Tri-County Tournaments

The Nevada Middle School volleyball teams went back out on the road Monday night and earned a pair of strong victories in the Tri-County tournaments.

At Neosho, the seventh grade squad defeated McDonald County in three sets by the final scores of 25-15, 26-24 and 25-10 -- only dropping the second set. With that win, Nevada moved on to play Neosho in the semifinals Tuesday.

In that match, Neosho won by the final scores of 25-13 and 25-14, sending Nevada to the third place match, in which Nevada beat Webb City, 25-19 and 25-22, ending the season with a 9-5 record.

The eighth graders were also in action at the Tri-County Tournament in Webb City, where they picked up an opening-round win over Joplin North.
