Quitno selected to KCGA Mid-America Junior Cup team

A young Nevada golfer has been selected for competition next weekend in St. Louis.

Eighth grader John Quitno was named by the Kansas City Golf Association to its four-player Mid-America Junior Cup team that is scheduled to play a St. Louis-area team on Oct. 20-21, at the Bellerive Country Club. Quitno won the Kansas City Junior Tour at the Lawrence Country Club in Lawrence, Kan., and his teammates will be Zac Dittmer, Tanner Owen and Nick Rehmer.

The KCGA girls' team includes Taylor Black, Adrianna Elliott, Chandler Gallagher and Mariah Peters for the invitation-only Ryder/Solheim Cup-style competition.
