Two hurt in Sunday crash
Two area teenagers were hurt in a one-vehicle crash that took place in Bates County, Sunday afternoon.
According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 1995 Jeep driven by 21-year-old Derek S. Woodall, of Nevada, slid on the gravel and traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck an embankment, overturned and came to rest on its wheels, facing north, at 2:57 p.m., Nov. 4, on County Road SW 757, 1.3 miles south of County Road 10008.
McAenna D. Jacobs, 15, of Hume, suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Bates County Hospital in Butler, by Bates County EMS.
Rhiannon Jacobs, 16, of Rich Hill, suffered serious injuries and was taken by air ambulance to Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City.
Woodall was not injured. None of the occupants of the Jeep were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, the patrol said.
