BOLIVAR, Mo. -- The Nevada Tigers wrestling team got its dual season under way Tuesday night with a road matchup against the Liberators of Bolivar High School.

Bolivar defeated Nevada by an overall score of 43-28 on the night. In the nine matches that were contested on the night the Tigers earned a total of five wins. Those wins came from Dayton Miller at 106 pounds, who won by forfeit, Slade Stiles with a pin at 120, True Beisly by pin at 145, Dalton Shunkwiler by major decision at 152 and Colby Smith by pin at 220.

Tigers head coach Devin White says the results were "pretty good" considering the fact that the Liberators finished fourth in the state last season. Things could have gone much better for the Tigers, however, if not for the fact that Bolivar picked up three victories by forfeit.

The Tigers are scheduled to be back in action when they host Harrisonville at Wynn Gymnasium tonight, with the varsity matches to follow a Wrestling Legends induction ceremony. The dual is slated to begin at 6 p.m.
