Homer Jack Dennison
Homer Jack Dennison, 75, of Nevada, passed away on Dec. 28, 2012, at Via Christi Village, Pittsburg, Kan. He was born on Sept. 22, 1937, in Nevada, to Homer William Dennison and Mamie Cecil Pauley Dennison.
Jack was reared in Nevada and graduated from Nevada High School in 1955. He worked for the Nevada Police Department for a few years in the 1960s. He also worked as a mechanic at Brun's Garage in Nevada, drove a truck, and worked many years for the Missouri Department of Transportation, retiring as area supervisor.
Survivors include one daughter, Debbie Hayes and her husband, Steve, of Joplin, Mo.; two sons, Gene Dennison and Bill Dennison, both of Nevada; three stepchildren, Travis Heathman and his wife, Sharena, Andrea Peterman and her husband, Glenn, and Joe Heathman and his wife, Julie; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three sisters, Doris Moberg of Butler, Mo., Dorothy Wehrly and her husband, Manfred, of Shawnee Mission, Kan., and Judy Austin and her husband, L.J., of Nevada; one brother, Jim Dennison and his wife, Vicki, of Nevada; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was previously married to Karen Stevenson and Carol Heathman, both of Nevada. He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Donald and Darrell.
The family received friends from 10-11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 2, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada. Graveside services followed at Cave Springs Cemetery, near Sarcoxie, Mo.
