Forest Neil McQueen

Forest Neil McQueen, 89, Nevada, Mo., passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2013, at Christian Health Care in Nevada. He was born on Sept. 24, 1923, in Nevada, to Ray and Frances Benzie McQueen. He was married to Betty Jean Baker on Dec. 11, 1945, in Fort Scott, Kan., and she preceded him in death on March 21, 2008.

Neil lived in Nevada for most of his life. He was self-employed in a trucking business. Following retirement, Neil and Betty enjoyed traveling in their motor home and visited most of the United States.

Survivors include one son, Don McQueen and his wife, Jean, Nevada; one granddaughter, Amanda and one great-grandson, Mason, St. Louis, Mo.; one brother, Raymond McQueen, Athens, Texas; niece, Francie McQueen Bearden, Athens, Texas; and sister-in-law, Nadine McQueen, Osage Beach, Mo. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Glen Phil McQueen and Ralph B. McQueen.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, April 30, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. David Rorabaugh officiating. Interment will follow in Newton Burial Park, Nevada. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at the funeral home.
