OZARK -- Nevada Tigers and Lady Tigers track and field athletes won two championships Saturday in the Class 3, Sectional 3 meet at Ozark High School.

Senior Morgan Hold won the pole vault with a new school record of 15 feet, 6 inches, shattering the mark he tied just three weeks ago. at Girard, Kan. Hold's previous mark of 14-3 matched the record held by Tyler Werner and Hold's pole vaulting coach, Eric Fast.

Fast set the original record at the same meet in Girard in 2000 and Werner tied it in 2008. Hold's new record shattered their mark by 15 inches, putting him all alone at the top of the all-time best pole vaults list at Nevada High School.

Steffan Ogle also qualified for the 2013 MSHSAA State Track and Field Championships in the pole vault, but came up a full 2 feet short of Hold's mark at 13-6.

The Lady Tigers' 4x100-meter relay team of Kelsey McCall, Ashley Shumaker, Carsten Warner and Reagan Bradley won the gold medal in 51.49 seconds. Senior Dalton Hendren finished second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.78, and the Tigers' 4x100 meter relay team of Chance Mays, Ryan Ferris, Hold and Hendren finished fourth with a time of 44.14.

That performance was just .06 seconds faster than the old record time of 44.2 -- set in 2007 by Steve Branstetter, Thomas Pitts, Devin Hooe and Ryan Seaver.

Other Nevada finishers who didn't qualify for the state meet included a fifth-place showing by Shumaker in the high jump, sixth-place finishes by Hendren in the 100-meter dash and Justin Marley in the 300 hurdles, seventh-place finishes by Brooklyn Vincent and Anthony Mahder in the shot put, Bradley in the 100 and the Tigers' 4x200 relay team of Mays, Ferris, Hold and Hendren.

Nikiya Feezell finished eighth in the high jump, while Hold echoed that showing in the triple jump. The Lady Tigers 4x200 relay team of McCall, Mindy Hendren, Warner and Bradley also took eighth.

The 2013 MSHSAA Class 3 State Track and Field Championships are scheduled next weekend at Lincoln University, in Jefferson City.

Before making the trip to state, however, head coach Robert Watts' squad is set to host the annual All-Comers Meet today, weather and track conditions permitting.

The All-Comers Meet, sponsored by the Nevada High School track team, is an all-ages meet designed to give any interested participants the chance to compete and hopefully, spark an interest in the sport of track in younger children.

Many current Nevada High School track and field athletes participated in the All-Comers Meet when they were in preschool and elementary school. There is a small charge to compete, but every participant will receive a ribbon at the end of the competition.

Divisions start as young as preschool, up to the master's mile for any runner in high school or adult runners in "decade" categories. This year's All-Comers Meet was originally scheduled for April 30, but due to inclement weather, was postponed to Tuesday.

Registration begins at 4 p.m., at the Testman Track at Nevada High School and events start at 4:30 p.m.
