Saturday, September 7, 2013
The Nevada High School freshman football team opened the season against Carthage Tuesday, with far less than favorable results.
Carthage took a 56-14 victory in the contest, but Tigers coach Josh Smith was still pleased.
"We gave good effort and learned a lot," he said. "We are very proud of the boys and are looking forward to bouncing back against Willard on Monday."
With the loss, the Tigers opened the season 0-1 and will be back in action Monday, heading out on the road for the first time to take on Willard.
