Nevada volleyball falls on the road
HARRISONVILLE -- The Lady Wildcats of Harrisonville High School swept the Nevada Lady Tigers volleyball teams in a tripleheader Thursday night, capping the evening with a two-game win in the varsity match by the final scores of 25-23 and 25-23.
"Tonight was a tough game for us," Lady Tigers head coach Ashley Thoreson said. "We could not seem to get any momentum and had a hard time with ball control. We did not play to our potential and we will evaluate our play and improve from it."
Lexie Overton led the Lady Tigers with 17 digs on the night, while Rilie Good added four kills. Harrisonville also won the junior-varsity match, 25-17 and 25-12, and the freshman match, 25-11 and 25-17.
With those losses, all three of Nevada's teams fell to 0-2 on the year. The Lady Tigers are scheduled to be back in action on Monday, hosting Seneca in a varsity/JV doubleheader that's scheduled to begin at 6 p.m., inside Wynn Gymnasium at Nevada High School.
