The Nevada Middle School seventh- and eighth-grade volleyball teams got back into action Monday night and came out of their contests against Joplin South with mixed results.
Head coach Marsha Hooper's seventh graders had little trouble getting past South as both the A and B teams earned two-set victories. Hooper's A team defeated South by the final scores of 25-17 and 25-18, while the B team won by a considerably larger margin, 25-9 and 25-10.
Things didn't go quite as well for head coach Gail Wilson's eight-grade squads as her A team fell to South by the final scores of 25-12 and 25-16. The B match was closer, but South still prevailed by the final scores of 25-19 and 25-18.
