Emily Lynn Benbrook - Matthew John Wopata

Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Benbrook of Nevada, Mo., announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Emily Lynn Benbrook, to Matthew John Wopata. Matthew is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Wopata of Kansas City, Mo.

Emily is a 2006 graduate of Nevada High School and a 2010 graduate of the University of Missouri. She received a law degree from Southern Methodist University in May. Emily is currently living in Columbia, Mo., and is employed with the Supreme Court of Missouri in Jefferson City.

Matthew is a 2006 graduate of Oak Park High school in Kansas City and received his bachelor's degree from the University of Missouri in chemical engineering. He currently resides in Dallas, Texas, and works as a project manager in the oil and gas industry.

Grandparents of the couple include Mrs. Barbara Ferry and the late Ingles Ferry of Nevada, Mo.; Mrs. Minnie Benbrook of Phoenix, Ariz., and the late Carl Benbrook; Mrs. Darlene Degraff and the late Marvin Degraff of Colfax, Iowa; and the late Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Wopata of Independence, Mo.

The couple is planning a June 7, 2014, wedding to take place at the United Methodist Church in Nevada.
