High school volleyball seasons end
Both Hume and Bronaugh fell in the Class 1, District 11 volleyball tournament.
Hume advanced to the tournament's final round, dispatching Northeast Vernon County in two sets, then besting Rich Hill in a best-of-three series to advance to the championship match, taking on the Liberal Lady Bulldogs.
Hume lost the championship match in two sets.
The Bronaugh Lady Wildcats' season ended Tuesday night, in the second round of district play, when they were defeated by the Liberal Lady Bulldogs in two sets. The scores were 25-21, 25-11.
The Lady 'Cats had earlier defeated the Miami Lady Eagles in the first round, 25-12, 25-20. The Lady Wildcats finished the season with a winning record of 15-11.
Combined stats for the last two matches for Bronaugh had Cydnee Piper with nine kills, Lora Shaw with four kills and nine blocks, Martell Moore with four kills and Courtney Conner with 18 assists.
Cydnee Piper was selected to be a member of the All District team.
