Middle school basketball faces Joplin South
The Nevada Middle School seventh- and eighth-grade girls' basketball teams continued their regular-season schedules Monday night, taking back to the road to square off against Joplin South Middle School.
Head coach Danny Penn's eighth graders split their doubleheader, winning the B game by a final score of 24-16, while Joplin South rebounded to take the A game, posting a dominant performance in a 38-20 victory. Head coach Gail Wilson's seventh graders posted a sweep, winning the A game, 25-22, and the B game, 35-13.
The middle school's girls' teams were scheduled to get right back into action Tuesday night, as the seventh graders hosted Lamar and the eighth graders played in Lamar. Those results were not available at press time.
