Nevada council considers 2014 budget Tuesday

The Nevada City Council will hold the first reading of the city's 2014 municipal budget during Tuesday night's meeting.

It will also be holding the final reading of an ordinance accepting the bid from R.E. Smith Construction Co., Joplin, to build two public safety buildings.

The council will also be holding the first reading of an ordinance approving a memorandum of agreement with Alliance Water Resources and an ordinance declaring 20 feet of a city-owned lot surplus property, so it can be sold to the neighboring property owner.

Other new business on the agenda includes the consideration of five lease agreements for haying, grazing or crops on undeveloped city owned property.

The council will also consider the first reading of an agreement with E-Z-Go Division of Textron Inc. to provide 30 golf cars and two utility vehicles to the Frank E. Peters Municipal Golf Course.

Other items on the agenda include the second reading of three ordinances for the use of city parks facilities and the change in the zoning of property at 407 W. Highland from R-3, apartment district to RP-3, planned apartment district.

The council will also consider the final reading of a special ordinance amending the fees, licensing and vaccinations for dogs and an ordinance approving a memorandum of understanding with local veterinarians to sell dog licenses at the time dogs are vaccinated

Other items of business include consideration of bids for a compute voice stress analyzer for the Police department and a bid for playground equipment.
