Thomas E. "Tommy" Smith

Thomas E. "Tommy" Smith, 44, Nevada, Mo., passed away Monday, March 3, 2014, as a result of a motor vehicle accident. Tommy was born in Nov. 24, 1969, in Nevada. He was united in marriage on May 3, 1997, to Jamie S. Heckadon, in Nevada, and she survives of the home.

Tommy was raised in Nevada and attended Nevada R-5 School. He worked as a carpenter most of his working life. Tommy also enjoyed working on vehicles, having bonfires and cookouts with friends and family. And most of all he enjoyed spending time with his kids.

In addition to his wife, Jamie, survivors include two children, Devon Smith and Dalton Smith, both of the home; his father, Bill Holman, Poplar Bluff, Mo.; one brother, Rex Lee Holman, Poplar Bluff, Mo.; one sister, Viola Holman, Nevada; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Della Fave Holman; and several aunts, uncles, grandparents and great-grandparents.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, March 6, at Ferry Funeral Home, in Nevada, with Dana Kannard officiating. Interment will follow at a later date.
