Plans for bandstand repair or replacement will wait until Saturday as decided by the Sheldon Board of Aldermen on Thursday.
The aldermen reviewed a submitted proposition to angle a replacement bandstand at 45 degrees so a larger audience could view the stage without impinging on the street.
"That would allow us to do some things differently, like light it differently," alderman Robert Moran said. "Those on stage would also not directly face the sun."
The aldermen as well as interested community members will meet at the bandstand after 5 p.m. Saturday to discuss improvements to be made before the Sheldon Old Settlers Picnic in August.
The bandstand meeting follows the last Drury architecture student presentation giving the town plans for the next 20 to 30 years. The students will present from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the gym.
In other business, Moran commended the Vernon County Sheriff's department on their coverage of the town.
"The citizenry are appreciative of your responding to the complaint of fast riders with no mufflers," he said.
Changes to the employee manual and recruiting help for town business during the summer were tabled until the next meeting June 12.
