Bell to compete in Grin Iron Classic
SPRINGFIELD -- Local high school athletes from Southwest Missouri will be featured in two all-star events June 6 and 7, at Parkview High School.
Football all-stars will compete for the 13th year in the Sertoma Grin Iron Classic, an East vs. West competition, at 7:30 p.m., on June 6, at JFK Stadium. The following day, a girls' all-star volleyball tournament is set to start at noon, in the Parkview High School gymnasium.
This all-star weekend features 130 graduated high school seniors and 28 coaches competing with some of the best athletes in Southwest Missouri. Among the names on this year's West roster is Nevada's Keegan Bell, who will play in this year's game as a defensive back.
Tickets are $6, with children 6 and under admitted free and are available at McDonald's, Price Cutter, Smitty's, Ramey Supermarkets, or at the JFK Stadium gate.
All GIC and GAC alumni are invited to both events and receive complimentary tickets. In addition to the game, the GIC will also feature tours of the Tooth Truck, performances by area high school dance teams, a visit from Ronald McDonald, halftime game with Mid-West Family Radio, concessions, game ball raffle, a year's worth of movie passes from The Wehrenberg Campbell 16 Cine and commemorative programs and T-shirts.
