Gene Arthur Shearer III

Gene Arthur Shearer III, age 35, of Nevada, Mo., passed away July 30, 2014, at his home. He was born Dec. 1, 1978, in Phoenix, Ariz., to Gene Arthur Shearer Jr. and Coleen (Derenburger) Shearer Smith. On Jan. 26, 2012, he was united in marriage to Katrina Lashelle Smith and she survives.

Gene had formerly worked for NOW Structures and loved football, music, electronics, and enjoyed watching movies.

Survivors in addition to his wife and parents include sons, Jonah of Nevada; Shay of Butler, and Cody of Pleasanton, Kan.; brothers Scott Shearer and wife Jeanette of Butler; and Paul Shearer of Nevada; two nieces; five nephews; and his father's partner, Evelyn and her daughter Kailee; other relatives and many friends.

You need to enjoy life every minute and love and enjoy the ones you care about because they may not get tomorrow.

A visitation service for Gene Arthur Shearer III will be held from 1--2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.
