The Nevada Neptunes annual end of season awards banquet took place Aug. 17 at the First Baptist Church, where the team and their guests celebrated a summer of competitive swimming.
Featured during the banquet was a photo slide of the team's season, along with the election of the board and team officers. The team is coached by Karen Claypool.
According to the Neptunes website, the team "offers training and practice groups for swimmers of all ages and ability levels.
"It is the goal of the Nevada Neptunes to offer age specific training for all of our athletes geared towards challenging each individual and developing each individual to the best of their abilities."
One of the top moments during the Neptunes season came at the Nevada Tri-State Invitational meet in July, where they captured first place.
The Neptunes finished in third place at the Parsons Tri-State Invitational meet, which took place June 28-29 at the Parsons Municipal Pool.
At the Parsons meet, Nevada had several high point trophy award winners, with Addison Zamora's first place finish in the female 6 and under age group, and Cody Leung's first in the male 8 and under age group.
