Nevada High School's softball team reached the championship of the West Central Conference Softball Tournament in the school's first year of play, getting squeezed out narrowly by Clinton, 4-3.

Earlier, Nevada had rolled past O'Hara in B pool play 15-0 in three innings, with Mallorie Owen getting the win on the mound.

Against Warrensburg in pool play, the Tigers pulled out a 4-2 victory behind Carsten Warner's pitching.

That put them up against Clinton, the top team out of Pool A.

Maddie Hedges started and took the loss, with Warner coming on in relief for the final two innings and not giving up any earned runs.

The Lady Tigers are 14-10 and will close out their regular season Thursday afternoon at home against the Webb City Lady Cardinals at 4:30 p.m.
