Nevada Police concluded an investigation into a domestic violence case with the warrant arrest of a 58-year-old Vernon County resident.

Nevada Police were dispatched to an emergency call of an assault in progress in the 2500 block of East Johnson Drive Oct. 29.

Responding officers located a female who had been reportedly choked and punched in the face by a male companion. The woman escaped to another room in the home and called the police through Emergency 911, causing the suspect to flee the residence.

Nevada Police officers began an area search and located the suspect hiding in a truck in a nearby business parking lot. The individual was arrested without further incident and conveyed by Nevada Police to the Vernon County Jail.

Evidence was gathered and investigative details were documented, which led to a warrant application. The Vernon County Associate Circuit Court issued a felony arrest warrant for second degree domestic assault.

According to the press release from the NPD, taken into custody was Richard Calvin Shannon.

The arrested subject is being held at the VCSO on a $10,000 cash only bond.
