Shirley (Shirl) Jean Lionberger

Shirley (Shirl) Jean Lionberger, 73, formerly of Nevada, Mo., passed away Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2014, at Landmark Hospital, in Joplin. Born July 26, 1941, in Parsons, Kan., to Orville and Nellie Chastain Morris. She grew up in Parsons and later moved to Greeley, Colo. After graduating from Greeley High School, she worked locally until marrying John Lionberger on Sept. 14, 1962.

Mrs. Lionberger is survived by her husband, John Lionberger; her daughter, Sheila Wilson; her son, Steven Lionberger; her three grandsons, Taylor, Matthew, and Collin Wilson and wife, Jessica; along with a great-granddaughter.

Shirl was active in her faith, over the years serving as church secretary along with singing in the choir and arranging the flowers for services. Her love for butterflies, birds and flowers kept her smiling and brought her much happiness.
