Francis Ivan Dickey
Francis Ivan Dickey, 76, of rural Bronaugh, Mo., died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2015, at his home.
Mr. Dickey was born June 14, 1938, in rural Bronaugh, Mo., the son of Charlie and Ruth Worsley Dickey.
Francis worked as a Teamster and various other jobs until starting Dickey Construction in 1970. He was a lifetime resident of rural Bronaugh. He retired in 2004 due to ill health. He served in the National Guard. He was a member of the Nevada Free Will Baptist Church. He married Peggy Heitz on Dec. 7, 1963, in Fort Scott, Kan.
Mrs. Dickey survives of the home. Additional survivors include two sons, John (Joyce) Dickey and R. Daniel (Gretchen) Dickey, both of Bronaugh; one daughter, Rachelle Dickey (Paul) Dreyer, of Bronaugh; grandchildren, Cid and Leesa Dickey, of Bronaugh, Gib Dreyer and Johnnie Dreyer, of Bronaugh, and Dray Dickey and Gia Dickey, of Bronaugh; great-granddaughter, Aria Dickey, of Bronaugh; brother, Daniel "Blue" Dickey, of Liberal, Mo.; and a sister, Leanna Dickey Henson, of Liberal.
Mr. Dickey has been cremated according to his wishes. No services are planned and burial of the cremains will be at a later date. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m., Monday, Jan. 19, at the family home, 2504 E. Zeta Road, Bronaugh.
The family suggests memorials to the Nevada Free Will Baptist Church. Donations may be sent to the church or left at the Beden Funeral Home, 517 E. Washington, Box 621, Arma, KS 66712.
