Opal Mae Gotschall
Opal Mae Gotschall, 89, of Nevada, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015, at the Nevada Regional Medical Center, following a lengthy illness. Opal was born on Dec. 8, 1925, in Nevada, to Charles and Opal Mae (Starr) Beshore. She was married to Sgt. Marvlin Harper and he preceded her in death in 1945, during World War II. In 1946, she was married to Herb Gotschall and he survives of the home.
Opal was raised in Nevada and graduated from Nevada High School in 1943. She was a homemaker for a number of years and later worked for Missouri Public Service in Nevada from 1964-1980. She then worked for M&M Motor Supply from 1980-2001, until her retirement.
Opal was an avid bowler for many years and enjoyed traveling and camping at the lake with Herb.
In addition to her husband, Herb, she is survived by her daughter, Elaine (Harper) O'Rear and her husband, Darrell, of Kansas City, Mo.; her son, Timothy Gotschall and Stephanie, of Nevada; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; her sister, Ethel Dennis, of Topeka, Kan.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Opal was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack Beshore and Clyde Beshore; and three sisters, Emma Kwrpinski, Alline Holland, and Mildred Carreger.
A graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 27, at Newton Burial Park, in Nevada, with Pastor Dennis Painter officiating.
