NHS bounces O'Hara in road tilt

KANSAS CITY ---- The Nevada Lady Tigers throttled the Kansas O' Hara Lady Celtics 71-47 in Friday night West Central Conference basketball matchup.

With the victory, the Lady Tigers improve to 16-3 (6-2 WCC).

Nevada trailed 13-12 after the first quarter, and then outscored O'Hara 18-13 in the second frame to grab a 30-26 halftime lead.

After outscoring the Lady Celtics 19-12 in the third stanza, Nevada led 49-38 heading into the fourth quarter.

The Lady Tigers blew the game open in the fourth, scoring 22 points to O'Hara's nine, for the final 24 point margin.

For Nevada, seniors Morgan McNeley and Mikayla Bartlett finished with 14 points each, while sophomore Chloe Bartlett added a career-high 13 points. Center Rilie Good also finished with 13 points.

Rounding out the scoring for Nevadaforward Jansen Miller scored nine, Megan Payne four, and Madi Culbertson and Renee Cox two each.

Next up

Nevada hosts Warrensburg Friday evening, with both the junior varsity and varsity squads in action.
