Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. And this is the case for the Nevada fifth and sixth-grade girls who together, have participated in youth basketball in recent years.

Under the coaching and leadership of Travis Duncan and Joe Heathman, the Tiger girls have recently closed out their final season together.

The team initially began as the Ballerz at the age of 8, under the direction of Marcy Fisher.

The team members are: Kendrick Wilson, Kaylee Duncan, Claire Pritchett, Abby Harder, Tylin Heathman, Maleigha Hinton, and Alison Bower. In addition, Abby Heathman, younger sister of Tylin, joined the team for a recent tournament in Nevada.

These seven girls have grown up together; playing on the court as a cohesive and dominating team for the past five years, while nearing 100 wins, including a tournament win in Joplin this year.

Each one of their seasons was a winning one, including their fourth- grade year when they reeled off a 32-5 record. The girls have been preparing to represent Nevada as future Nevada Lady Tigers, as they are now ready to take Nevada Middle School seventh-grade basketball by storm next year!

The future

Looking ahead, many of the girls are slated to play with another group of girls from Webb City on the Missouri Elite team, hoping to continue their development on the court.
