Hattie Ruth Richmond-Boggess

Hattie Ruth Richmond-Boggess, 93, Nevada, Mo., passed from this life on Friday, May 29, 2015, at Moore-Few Care Center, in Nevada. She was born on Dec. 17, 1921, in Roby, Texas, to John Samuel and Frankie (DeShazo) Irwin. She married Charles Henry Richmond on March 13, 1944, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 1, 1969. She later married Arch Boggess on Nov. 18, 1979, and he preceded her in death in 2010.

Hattie was raised in Southland, Texas, and came to Nevada in 1958, where she lived until 1970. Following her marriage to Arch they lived in Tulia, Texas, and she returned to Nevada in 2007, where she has lived since. Hattie worked as an LPN at the Nevada City Hospital and later worked in the VISTA Corp program in Oklahoma and as a private nanny at the naval base in Guantanamo Naval Base, Cuba.

Survivors include one daughter, Frankie Richmond, Oklahoma City, Okla.; two sons, Charles (Ike) Richmond and John (Jake) Richmond, both of Nevada; stepchildren, Joe Boggess Sr., Lebanon, Mo., Shirley Armondtrout, Tulia,Texas, Venita Yengle, St. Louis, Mo., and Geri Harman, Amarillo, Texas; 25 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her spouses and parents she was preceded in death by brothers, Herman, Elery, and Marvin Irwin; sisters, Juanita Merrell, Erna Lee "Dutch" Lambright and Frankie Jean Irwin; daughter, Carol Jean Richmond Mealman; great-grandson, J. R. Yonnes; and stepdaughter, Louise Ray.

Funeral services for Hattie will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 2, at Ferry Funeral Home, with the Rev. Terry Mosher officiating. Interment will follow in Newton Burial Park, in Nevada. Friends may call now until the hour of service and the family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home.
