Richard Keith "Pappy" Williams
Richard Keith "Pappy" Williams, 78, of Rich Hill, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2015. Richard was born on May 12, 1937, in Nevada, Mo., to D.C. and Glady Williams. At 18 he enlisted in the Air Force. He married his childhood sweetheart, Naomi Hagerman, on Jan. 19, 1957. They traveled the world and had three children. He retired from the Air Force after 22 years of service.
Richard will be remembered for his unconditional love of country, God, and family. He enjoyed working with his hands, building and repairing things "with spray cans." He was always loyal, dependable and never missed an opportunity to learn or share his wisdom with others. A tenacious man, he never gave up on anything or anyone.
He will be missed by his wife, Naomi, and Bradford, Kimela, Deah, Christy, Anette, Mervin, Bradley, Benjamin, Susan, Cassidy, Brandon, Brent'lee, Blake, Katelyn, William, Johnathon, Mandy, Brandon, Caleb, Megan, Dierk, Holly, Sabastion, Kaiden, Skyler, Kayla, Ashton, Aiden, Oliver, and Antigone; nieces, Marilyn, and Margaret; and countless others.
He may not have outlived us all, but he certainly lived more than any of us.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m., with military honors following on Friday, June 12, at Community Christian Church, in Nevada, with Gary Kurtz officiating. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m., prior to the service at the church
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Vernon County Cancer Relief, P.O. Box 24, Nevada.
