Five run first lifts Griffs to victory

The Nevada Griffons used a five-run first inning as a springboard to victory Wednesday night on the road against the Clarinda A's.

The 7-4 win improved the Griffons to 10-7 overall (9-7 MINK League). The Griffons are in first place in the MINK League south division by one full game over the Branson Nationals.

For the Griffons, Jamie Graeser was 2-for-5 with an RBI; Cole Johnson 2-for-5 with a run; Dusty Wright 1-for-2 with two runs and an RBI; Jacob Bryant 1-for-3 with a run; and Anthony Davison 1-for-3 with a run. Griffons starting pitcher Jake Heissler picked up the win.
