This year's Tour of Nevada Criterium continued to see an influx of riders, with the first year, 2013, that Nevada hosted this part of the USA Cycling circuit drawing 177. Last year's total was up to 246. This year drew 282.

Competitors came from states in the region such as Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma and Arkansas, but also drew cyclists from Indiana, Nebraska, Texas, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, and from the country of Columbia.

"This year's race was a huge success and a big thank you to all those volunteers who helped make it happen, creating a safe race for our cyclists, pedestrians, residents and motorists," said Julie Lewis, executive assistant and community enhancement coordinator for the City of Nevada.

Ralph Pokorny/ Victoria Rocket, 14, races in the women's race Saturday night.

"I also appreciate those residents along the route for help keeping it safe. The cyclist turnout was great."

"'Sober as a Judge' was a huge hit, not only with the cyclists but the crowd that came out to enjoy the music and have a beer and some food with Sharky's Pub and Grub.

"This is such a unique event for Nevada, it was exciting to see some of the residents having barbecue with friends and being part of the race.

"I would really like to thank the Vietnam Veterans Chapter 918 for putting the American flags up around the Square. They just added the finishing touches to make sure our Square was memorable."

The youngest rider was Jude Borchers, who competed by himself in the 12-14 men's juniors.

The results are listed for the places awarded, with the varying categories divided by age and also by experience level, with the number equaling the degree of experience. Category 5 is a beginner, while category 1 is the most seasoned.
