Neptunes find success at Pittsburg swim invitational

The Nevada Neptunes swim team participated in a tri-state invitational swim meet hosted by the Pittsburg Barracudas YMCA team.

The meet took place July 11-12 at the Pittsburg Family YMCA. The event featured 11 regional teams and boasted 445 swimmers. A total of 46 Neptunes competed under the direction of head coach Karen Claypool, and assistant coaches Samantha Short, Dalton Eador, and Thomas Prewitt.

The Neptunes finished with the third best team score in the "A" division. In addition, 6-year old Nevada swimmer Kierston Eador continued her summer of excellence, taking home another High Point Award.

Emma Leisure was also awarded a High Point Award in the 10-and-under division.

* Kierston Eador, female 6-and-under, first place in 25 yard freestyle, 25 yard backstroke, 25 yard breaststroke, 25 yard butterfly, and fourth place in 100 yard individual medley.

* Hunter Eaton, male 6-and-under, first place in 25 yard butterfly, fourth place in 25 yard freestyle, and fifth place in 25 yard backstroke.

* Peyton Eaton, female 8-and-under, first place in 100 yard individual medley, fifth place in 50 yard freestyle and 25 yard backstroke.

* Cody Leung, male 10-and-under, first place in 50 yard butterfly, second place in 50 yard freestyle, 50 yard breaststroke, 100 yard individual medley, and third place in 100 yard freestyle and 50 yard backstroke.

* Emma Leisure, female 10-and-under, first place in 50 yard freestyle, 100 yard freestyle, 50 yard butterfly and 100 yard individual medley, second place in 50 yard backstroke, and third place in 50 yard breaststroke.

* Tyler Armstrong, male 13-14, first place in 100 yard freestyle, fifth place in 50 yard freestyle and 50 yard breaststroke.

* Kalen Morris, male 13-14, first place in 50 yard breaststroke, third place in 50 yard freestyle, and fourth place in 50 yard butterfly.

* Caroline McCaffree, female 13-14, first place in 50 yard breaststroke, second place in 50 yard freestyle, 50 yard backstroke and 50 yard butterfly, fourth place in 100 yard freestyle and 200 yard individual medley.

* Morgan Ernsbarger, female 15-18, first place in 50 yard butterfly, third place in 200 yard individual medley, fourth place in 100 yard freestyle and 200 yard freestyle, fifth place in 50 yard freestyle, and sixth place in 50 yard backstroke.

* Kolton Evans, male 6-and-under, second place in 25 yard freestyle, 25 yard backstroke, and 25 yard butterfly, third place in 25 yard breaststroke.

* Molly Russell, female 8-and-under, second place in 25 yard breaststroke, and fourth place in 25 yard butterfly.

* Franki Fine, female 10-and-under, second place in 100 yard freestyle, third place in 50 yard backstroke, and sixth place in 100 yard individual medley.

* Peyton Claypool, female 13-14, second place in 50 yard breaststroke, and fifth place in 50 yard freestyle.
