Bill Parrack, 77, of Wichita, formerly of Wellington, passed away Thursday, Aug. 6, 2015, at his daughter's home in Wichita, Kan.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 11, at the Shelley Family Funeral Home, in Wellington. Visitation will be held Monday, Aug. 10, from 9 a.m., until 8 p.m., with the family present from 6 until 8 p.m., at the Shelley Family Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Prairie Lawn Cemetery. A memorial has been established with the Fallen Firefighters Foundation and may be left with the Shelley Family Funeral Home, of Wellington. Billie Vaughan Parrack was born Dec. 27, 1937, the son of Vaughan and Edna (Russell) Parrack, in Climax Springs, Mo. He graduated from Metz Missouri High School in 1955. On July 4, 1958, Bill was united in marriage to Betty Pryor in Nevada, Mo. Bill was a Firefighter in Wichita, retiring on Sept. 7, 1984. As a secondary profession he owned and operated his own concrete business. He enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, watching the St. Louis Cardinals, and reading.
Bill is survived by his children, Iris Leidy and her husband, Kelsey, of Wichita, Kan., Douglas Parrack of Wichita, Kan., Pam Hinman and her husband, Fred, of Wellington, Kan., and Tonia Cliffman and her husband, Mike, of Wellington, Kan.; 12 grandchildren, Amanda Stewart, Michelle Franklin, Stephanie Wampler, Kayleen Gildhouse, Nicole Fischer, Desiree Grube, Haley, Julia, Alexis and James Hinman, and Michaela and Erika Cliffman; 17 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Bob Parrack of Springfield, Mo., and John "Davy" Parrack and his wife, Carol, of Texas.
Preceding him in death are his parents; his loving wife, Betty; and a sister in infancy.
