Bronaugh R-7 sets date for tax hearing, approves rule changes to handbooks
The Bronuagh R-7 School Board meeting set the tax rate hearing for Wednesday Aug. 19, and approved changes to the athletic handbook and the preschool handbook.
The majority of the changes to the athletic handbook were re-written to match the Missouri State High School Activities Association.
One rule change included in the handbook is, students who miss school Friday with an unexcused absence are not allowed to participate in a sporting event the following Saturday.
Principal Jordan Dickey, Superintendent David Copeland and Athletic Director Daryl Dodson helped create the new handbook.
"You need structure," Copeland said. "Written words are important."
The preschool handbook is "Really guidelines for parents on how to dress (their preschool students), attendance and where to be picked up and dropped off," Dickey said.
On Aug 19, at 6 p.m., Bronaugh's tax rate hearing will be held in room 101.
While the new tax numbers could not be confirmed, Copeland suggested the numbers could be lower this year than last year's $3.63 per $100 assessed valuation.
"We're pretty much going to break even," Copeland said.
"That's what this is supposed to do. People will be happy about that."
