Dr. Jim Harms hit a "hole in one" on hole No. 6 at the Nevada Country Club Golf Course Sunday, Aug. 23. The hole is a 140-yard, par 3. Harms used a driver for the shot.

The ball was a low shot, which hit the upward slope in front of the green, bounced up, hit the flag stick and dropped straight down into the hole. This sequence of events was not immediately apparent because of the sun glare impairing visibility.

The consensus among the foursome of Dr. Tom Bunton, Jay Bowmaster, John Flynn, and Harms was that the ball went over the green or had plugged where it hit on the upward slope. A search for the ball was unsuccessful, causing some frustration. Finally Harms looked in the hole and found that the near impossible had happened.
