Larry Wayne Murphy
Larry Wayne Murphy, 50, Independence, Mo., passed away on Friday, Aug. 28, 2015, at his residence following a lengthy illness. He was born on June 22, 1965, in El Dorado Springs, Mo., to Jesse Burl Murphy and Ruby Joanne Woodling Murphy.
Larry was raised in El Dorado Springs and Nevada and attended high school in Nevada. He has lived and worked in Kansas City for the past 20 years. He was an avid fisherman and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his companion of 20 years, Sherry Howard, of the home; two brothers, Randy Murphy and his wife, Dee, and John Bozworth, all of Nevada; one sister, Georgia Blair, Osceola, Mo.; six grandchildren; his stepmother, Shirley, El Dorado Springs, Mo.; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 3, at Ferry Funeral Home with Jeff Adams officiating. Interment will follow in Milo Cemetery, Milo, Mo. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 2, also at the funeral home.
