Nathaniel Steven Higgins

Nathaniel Steven Higgins, 35, of Milo, Mo., passed away Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015, in Wentworth, Mo. He was born June 24, 1980, in Tulsa, Okla.

Throughout his life, Steven, as he was known, became an accomplished artist who enjoyed drawing, airbrushing, and tattooing. He loved spending time in the great outdoors and was an avid fisherman. He was someone who excelled at every endeavor and project that he pursued. He loved life, loved to love and had an unforgettable smile. He was greatly loved and will be sadly missed.

Survivors include his daughter, Hailey Higgins; along with paternal family members including father and stepmother, Elmer and Linda Higgins; grandparents, Janie and Vern Ramey; aunts and uncles, Jimmy and Shelly Phillips; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Beth and Dustin Loucks; cousins, Janessa and Thomas; other survivors, Robert and Mae Smith; "Chosen Momma," Julie Simpkins; Jill Nelson; Jordan Smith; his best friend, soul mate, and fiancé, Emily Smith, of the home; and Macyn and Cole Nelson, who he loved more than words could explain.

Funeral services for Steven Higgins will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 1, at Ferry Funeral Home, in Nevada. Visitation is scheduled from 1 to 2 p.m., just prior to the service also at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Milo Cemetery.
