Larry Alan Sivils
Larry Alan Sivils, 71, of Nevada, Mo., passed from this life on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2015, at his home. He was born Oct. 2, 1943, in Rich Hill. On Sept. 11, 1993, he was united in marriage to Kathryn Marie (Griffith) Sivils and she survives of the home.
Larry lived his early life in Rich Hill, and then relocated along with his family to the Schell City area graduating with the Schell City Class of 1961. After graduation he entered the United States Air Force serving our country as an airplane mechanic from 1964-68 during the Vietnam era. Upon completion of his military duty he returned to this area where he worked as a body man at Mullins, then for a time owned his own shop. He then began employment at Coonrod's Body Shop working there for 30 years. Cars were always his passion, both at work and as a hobby. He loved attending car shows and had a special place in his heart for a '56 Thunderbird. He was a member of the Walker Christian Church where he was currently serving as a Deacon.
Survivors in addition to his wife, Kathy, include stepdaughter, Chrystal Roedel; stepson, Troy Carson; brothers, Raymond Sanders and wife, Liz, and Phillip Sanders and wife, Janet; six grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins, other extended family members and a host of friends. Larry was preceded in death by his mother, Joan M. Sivils.
Funeral services for Larry Alan Sivils will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Oct. 2, at Ferry Funeral Home, in Nevada. Interment will follow in Newton Burial Park, in Nevada. Visitation is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 1, at the funeral home.
