Randy Thomas Boyd

Randy Thomas Boyd, 65, of Nevada, Mo., passed from this life Thursday, Oct. 8, 2015, at the Nevada Regional Medical Center, in Nevada, after a lengthy illness. He was born July 27, 1950, in Nevada, the son of Murl Wilford and Lois Mae (Bryan) Boyd. On Jan. 28, 1978, he was united in marriage to Mickie Rae (Garwood) Boyd and she survives of the home.

Randy attended school in Nevada, graduating with the Class of 1968. Following high school he served our country in the United States Army for two years. His service time was during the Vietnam Era and he was stationed in Germany for a time. After completion of his military commitment he returned to Nevada working with his father in the family's Boyd Painting Company, which he continued to operate until his death. When time away from work allowed, he enjoyed fishing.

Randy was known to be an exceptional family man and treasured time spent with all of his loved ones, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors in addition to his wife, Mickie, include his children, Jeremy T. Boyd of Nevada, Shannon T. Boyd of Rosebud, Ark., Aaron T. Boyd of Ward, Ark., Michael Farris and Lesia of Sheldon, and Brennon L. Boyd and Kerrie of Ward, Ark.; 18 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Boyd-Moore and Maxine Sutcliffe, both of Nevada; numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family members and many friends. Randy was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Ricky Boyd.

Funeral services for Randy Thomas Boyd will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Oct. 12, at Ferry Funeral Home, in Nevada. Interment with military honors will follow in the Moore Cemetery in Nevada. Visitation is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday, at Ferry Funeral Home.
