Denny Leon McClellan
Denny Leon McClellan, 71, Nevada, Mo., passed from this life on Sunday, Oct. 25, 2015, at his home in Nevada.
Denny was born on Nov. 21, 1943, in Kansas City, Mo., the son of Melvin and Betty Jo (Whitworth) McClellan.
He was united in marriage to Patricia Rawlings on Sept. 30, 2000, and she survives of the home.
Denny grew up in Grandview and attended Grandview High School, graduating with the Class of 1961.
He then served in the United States Navy for four years on the USS Hampton during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Following his service years, Denny worked for the United States Postal Service in Grandview for a number of years before coming to Nevada in the early 1980s.
He worked for a time for Adams Sales, and Budweiser in Nevada, then later worked for TLT Wire Company until his retirement in 2002. Denny was a lifetime member of VFW No. 2175, American Legion Post No. 2, and the BPO Elks No. 640 Nevada.
In addition to his wife, Patricia, survivors include two daughters, Vicki and Kelly; stepchildren, Tammy Herren and her husband, Robert, Rich Hill, Alvin Rawlings and his wife, Mary, El Dorado Springs, and Terri Bishop, Nevada; 11 stepgrandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; and two brothers. He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepson, Jason Rawlings.
A visitation will be held at Ferry Funeral Home from 3 to 4 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 29, with military honors at 4 p.m.
